i hate long distance.

i realize i may not have 7 foot long legs to accommodate hareem pants, but i have a pair in leopard print which i think are amazing. $20 from urban outfitters. i also have a pair of acid wash hareem jeans. LOL. just saying it makes me laugh – it’s kind of like 3 trends mashed into one in a really bizarre way, but whatever – i loves it.

then ashley olsen goes and wears the momma of all hareem/balloon pants:

ok i need this bodysuit in my life – as much as i hate wearing them because i do drink a lot of water.

i have a replica of this dress from Supre as seen on Ashley Olsen but i’ve never worn it. i am kind of afraid to. i lack the whole long and lissome thing.

i was watching 3rd rock from the sun and Mary Albright was wearing a black cape from one episode and was constantly made fun of. Capes are awesome. I want one.

So I give you a short preview of food from my recent travels:

Green ham and eggs @ The Friendly Toast, Cambridge, MA.
if you want your arteries clogged at breakfast – eat this. The green refers to pesto cream, methinks. It was delightfully rich and I went right back to bed after breakfast.

Some armageddon type omelette at The Friendly Toast, Cambridge, MA. R had this. he couldn’t finish this. we’re talking about a grown man who likes his In n Out burgers triple triple with a chocolate milkshake and animal style fries. okay so In n out portions aren’t huge, but they are so so so delish.

Ricotta cream pie at Mike’s Pastry, 300 Hanover St, Boston, MA.
The queue for this was sort of long – but well worth it, I thought.

Hell fries and a turkey and bacon sandwich made with rustic french toast and a side of apple sauce at All Star Sandwiches, Cambridge, MA. By far the best sandwich shop I have ever been to. Ever. And it takes a lot for a girl like me to say that because I’m a self-professed rice-a-holic. I’m Asian. shut up.

Free range wild boar hash with a side of biscuit and fresh fruit at The Tractor Room, 3687 5th Avenue, San Diego CA.

The perfect hangover food. I love the drippy yolks from sunny side ups and the good hearty taste of meat coupled with goat’s cheese and chives. Complete with fresh fruits? Oh, my.

i’ve spent the whole day in the lab and i know i’m supposed to have some sort of direction with regards to where my project is going and whatnot, but on some days i couldn’t care less. i am not the type of person to neither blossom with novel ideas for experiments nor be that curious about the function of brain cells. instead, i thought about how to cook my eggs for dinner. i’m fairly simple.

i ended up boiling them and the yolk was still raw so i had raw yolk, vegetables and a bowl of pasta for dinner. TMI? maybe.

“Do you think I can stay to become nothing to you? Do you think I am an automaton? – a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! – I have as much soul as you – and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you. I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh: it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God’s feet, equal – as we are!”

one of the most beautiful books i’ve ever read. oh, how i want to read for pleasure again!
